MODC thrives because of its committees, where much of our work is accomplished. The mission statements of our program committees are listed below. Business Growth & Development
(Len Nitti, Chair)
It is the mission of the Monmouth-Ocean Development Council Business Growth & Development Committee to assist business owners and professionals in developing successful business strategies.

The committee achieves its mission by: a) educating and informing MODC members about sound business principles and practices, new technologies, legislation impacting local business, available business resources and markets; b) advocating for the interests of the business community; c) providing networking opportunities with local professional and community leaders through organized programs and events.

Cultural & Tourism Committee (Tom Gilmour, Chair)
Plan, coordinate, enhance and market tourism and culture in Monmouth and Ocean Counties to provide opportunities for increasing the economic well being of the bi-county area, while preserving the quality of life.

Economic Development (Ed Gurskis, Chair)
To stimulate economic development of business and industry in Monmouth and Ocean Counties.
To explore issues and legislation relevant to areas of interest to MODC. To become better informed about the concerns of the Monmouth/Ocean region and to be advocates for issues and legislation that will ultimately affect the bi-county area.

Energy & Environment (Penny Griber, Chair)
To educate and inform the MODC general membership and the public on energy issues, environmental matters, and regulatory proposals which affect the energy, environmental, and economic communities of Monmouth and Ocean Counties. To recommend that MODC take firm positions in discussing and advocating legislative and regulatory proposals on energy and environmental issues. To provide presentations on topics of interest to the committee members. To foster a cooperative, balanced relationship among economic, environmental, and energy interests in order to enhance the quality of life in the bi-county area.

Government Relations (Tom Hayes, Chair)
The mission of the MODC Government Relations Committee is to provide access, and disseminate information, to and from MODC members and government officials, such that MODC's membership benefits, and representatives of government can interact with MODC as a resource for reaching businesses and organizations in the two county area.

Nonprofit Committee
(Paul Brook, Chair)
To improve the delivery of services provided to area residents by nonprofit groups through:

           Offering nonprofits a forum for the exchange of information
            and ideas;

          
Promoting both formal and informal collaboration among MODC
            member nonprofits, as well as the greater nonprofit community as
            a whole;

          
Establishing linkages among the nonprofit, business, and
            government sectors and;

          Informing the MODC membership of the contribution made to
          the bi-county area by member nonprofits.
   
          Technology (Marshall Wright, Chair)
          It is the mission of the MODC Technology Committee to:
        
          
•Articulate and promote an understanding of existing technologies
             and technological trends, and their implications with respect to
             business, education and government.

           •Organize and pursue educational programs, partnerships and
             initiatives that help members take full advantage of existing
             and emerging technologies and promote technology driven
             economic growth in Monmouth and Ocean Counties

           •Advocate for legislation and initiatives that advance technology
             to the benefit of the businesses in the Monmouth-Ocean
region
             and around the state.

          MODC Education Foundation (Elayne Attara, Chair)
             
The Education Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization established
             
to assist youth in Monmouth and Ocean Counties. Its mission is to
           support an educated, skilled and competent workforce by providing
           funding for scholarships, mentoring and education programs.
